Trojan Youth Soccer is offered for players in U4 through U14 divisions. Age groups are now determined by the school‑year method, beginning August 1, 2026. 


Children who meet the school‑year age requirement for U4 (typically turning 4 during the school year) are eligible to participate in the upcoming fall season. 


 Coaches typically contact families about three weeks before the season begins. 


 Practices may begin two weeks prior to the start of the season. 


 Teams practice one to two evenings per week, for a maximum of one hour per session. 


 Coaches will reach out one to two weeks before the first scheduled practice with practice days and times. 


No. Only registered Trojan Youth Soccer players are insured and permitted to participate in practices and games. 


 No. All practices must take place at Sunman Elementary School.


8 games plus a tournament are played.  Most games are scheduled on Saturdays, though occasional weeknight games may occur. 


  •  U4–U8: Size 3
  • U9–U12: Size 4
  • U14: Size 5


  •  A properly sized soccer ball.
  • Water bottle.
  • Soccer cleats (no baseball or football cleats) No Metal
  • Shin guards with long soccer socks worn over the guards


 Soccer will be played in a variety of weather conditions, including rain. Game cancellations depend on:

  • Field safety
  • Field preservation
  • Weather forecasts
  • Scheduling limitations

If fields are open, practice may be held. If fields are closed, no practices are allowed. Please refer to the Severe Weather Policy for details.


Yes, however, coaches must notify the league scheduler and referee scheduler to work out a new date and time.


  •  Children of coaches are placed on their parent’s team.
  • Siblings in the same division are placed together unless a parent requests otherwise.
  • League Coordinators use a lottery to create teams each season.


No. Requests for:

  • Specific coaches
  • Specific teammates
  • Ride‑sharing or carpooling cannot be honored.

 With a small volunteer board and the amount of time special requests require, we are unable to continue offering them at this time. 


 For special consideration, please contact the board. 


Playing down is only permitted for children with documented physical or developmental needs. Please contact the board for review. General size or maturity concerns do not qualify. 


Trojan Youth Soccer supports multi‑sport participation. While conflicts may occur, we encourage:

  1. Games taking priority over practices in another sport.
  2. Balancing absences between sports when possible.
  3. Communicating early with both coaches so they can plan accordingly.
